Kosdon at MWP

Anyone planning to fly any Kosdon motors at MWP? I should specify, I mean real Kosdon, not KBA.

I had planned to try a 29mm I560 in a Wildman Blackhawk but since I can't make it to the new dates that isn't going to happen.

Rocket Tracking

Anyone using APRS for tracking? Are there any digipeters in Princeton? I have been learning how to use APRS for these types of projects, but was only able to get ground support equipment ready so far. Byonics sells a nice tracker with 300mW transmitter, anyone used that? Let me know if you have sugestions...

Movie night

We will not be allowing doomsday book authors to take over movie night this year.
Rather we have a guest movie director who I am positive you will appreciate.
Doug Gerrard is coming to Midwest Power this year.
He plans to set up his high speed camera pad and rocket and fly rockets as well as show some of his work for us.
Doug's movies are out of this world.
The high speed cameras he uses gives him unlimited potential.
He told me he has a slow mo cato that...

Anyone been by the MWP field lately to see how close they are to harvesting? The reason I ask is that on a drive South of Lafayette this morning I noticed that quite a few fields have started harvesting, both beans and corn! I think there has been a little more rain up that way, but still not much.

Folks are doing a great job filling up the slots now but we still have some glaring holes in the RSO positions
on Saturday and Sunday.

I just want to put in my request now that we steer clear of Halloween weekend next year.
Some folks like doing parties and stuff for Halloween.
Not to mention that more corn will be off the fields if we go later.
My Ultimatum is that if MWP is held on Halloween weekend next year you will have one fewer major volunteer.

The Midwest Power registration site is finally up and running. You can go to www.midwestpower.org to sign up.

We are using PayPal to collect the registration fees but you do not need a paypal account to register. If you do not have a PayPal account, click the "Continue" link on the left side of the paypal sign-in page to complete the transaction. (See Below)

Seeing what projects are being worked on for MWP or what do you plan on flying? Currently I plan on the Redstone with 3 - M1450's, 12" Patriot on M2200 Skid at night, 7 1/2" Patriot, and 6" Sandhawk with airstarts.

Well, at LDRS we were convinced to attend MWP7 this year.

We have thought about it many times but the Newspaper job kept me busy every weekend. Bad News\Good News... The paper just cut all the staff photographers and I lost my job with them. Good news in that is that it has opened my weekends and allows me more time for my own photography company.

So, we are adding MWP to our list of events and will be there for all three days. I look forward to shooting the...
